We invite you to unlock more than 300 years of history and learn how Morris Plains grew from a single saw mill in 1685 to the present-day “Community of Caring.” Visit the Morris Plains Museum for a firsthand look at Homer Davenport’s caricatures, Monahan’s Band instruments, and many other treasures from our collection, including photographs, maps, costumes, and artwork. Take part in our guided tours and educational programs to discover even more.
The Museum is open 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays or by appointment.
We invite anyone who is interested in joining the museum to attend our monthly member/volunteer meetings on-site. Volunteer meetings take place on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 11 a.m. at the museum.
We are located at 51 Jim Fear Drive in the lower level of the Community Center, rear entrance. (A Google map of the museum’s location is available as an interactive web page that lets you zoom in or out and switch to a satellite view, and a Community Center grounds map is available as a PDF document, which can be magnified using the Zoom tool).
